Salcare CEO Launches 445-Mile Charity Bike Ride Following 60th Birthday Fundraising Celebration

The countdown has officially begun for one of Salcare’s biggest fundraising challenges yet, as Chief Executive Officer, Don, has formally launched his incredible 445-mile charity bike ride following a special 60th birthday fundraising celebration held last week. Don is taking on the epic cycling challenge to raise vital funds for Salcare, the community charity he has proudly led for many years, alongside Beatson Cancer Charity – a cause that holds a very special place in his heart.

Over the coming weeks, Don will continue his training before setting off on the 445-mile journey, determined to raise as much money as possible while shining a spotlight on the life-changing work of both charities.

Speaking about the challenge, Don said:

“Turning 60 felt like the perfect opportunity to take on something that would really make a difference. This challenge is about far more than cycling miles – it’s about supporting two charities that mean so much to me. Salcare changes lives every day in our local communities, and Beatson Cancer Charity has provided incredible support to so many people and families. I’d love as many people as possible to get behind the challenge, help raise awareness and, if they can, make a donation. Every pound will make a real difference.”

Don has already been putting in the hard work, clocking up hundreds of training miles, including cycling through the recent heatwave and fitting rides around work and family commitments.

As the challenge approaches, Salcare will be sharing Don’s training updates, route information and fundraising progress, giving supporters the opportunity to cheer him on along the way.

The charity hopes the local community, businesses and supporters across the region will get behind the challenge by donating, sharing updates and helping raise awareness of both charities.

Every mile cycled will help make a lasting difference. To support Don’s fundraising challenge, please visit: https://gofund.me/6e01f2473
