About Salcare
Salcare is a dedicated charity supporting families and individuals affected by domestic abuse across Derbyshire. We’re proud to provide safe, empowering environments where people can rebuild their lives with dignity, support, and hope. Now, we’re looking for a compassionate, skilled Children and Young People’s Domestic Violence Advisor (CYPIDVA) to join our team and help us make an even greater difference.
About the Role
As our CYPIDVA, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting children and young people who have experienced domestic abuse. This is more than just a job – it’s a chance to create safe spaces, build trust, and empower young people to:
- Explore their experiences and feelings in a supportive, non-judgmental environment
- Develop an understanding of safe, healthy relationships
- Regain a sense of safety, control, and stability
- Engage in meaningful, confidence-building activities within their communities
You’ll work directly with young people both one-to-one and in group settings, using trauma-informed, child-centered approaches that place the voice of the child at the heart of everything we do.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re seeking someone who is:
- Passionate about working with children and young people
- Knowledgeable about domestic abuse and its impact on young lives
- Experienced in delivering emotional and practical support
- A strong communicator, able to build trust with young people and their families
- Committed to safeguarding and inclusive practice
What We Offer
- A supportive team environment and regular supervision
- Training and professional development opportunities
- The chance to be part of a service that changes lives every day
- A role with real purpose and impact
- Very generous holiday entitlement
- Company healthcare plan
