Salcare has been supporting residents of Heanor and the Amber Valley that are experiencing poverty and other disadvantage since 1977. We began to support victims of domestic abuse in 2016. We provide a range of support to help individuals and families flee and move on from crisis, including domestic abuse, alongside practical support that helps people meet their basic needs and create a home. All our services are based in our community hub that provides a safe space where people can connect and rebuild their self-confidence.
We are now seeking up to four individuals to strengthen the expertise and capacity of our board including a new Treasurer. We are particularly keen to strengthen our expertise in the following areas, though applications from those without these skills are also welcomed.
- Charity finance including budgeting and year-end accounts (Treasurer role).
- Working with children and young people including experience of Ofsted.
- Corporate Social Responsibility and networked with businesses in the region.
- Developing communications strategy including social media.
- Income generation including social enterprise.
