A new job opportunity at Salcare
Thanks to DCC’s Derbyshire Grants Programme we’re delighted to be recruiting a new part-time Community Hub Development Worker.
Our vision is to create a Community Hub, fit for purpose and addressing directly the critical needs of our local community at a critical time.
The job will lead a project to repurpose our community centre, making a transitional change to the way we deliver services to better support the increasing needs of our community through a different, more person-centred approach to issues such as skills for work through volunteering, healthy living, food and fuel poverty, isolation and help support low level mental health (MH) issues. We also want to build up front line service capacity through a team of trained volunteers.
Specifically the role will co-ordinate and promote services and facilities of our Community Hub.
A full job description is attached but the principal responsibilities include:
- Plan and co-ordinate all services of the community hub (currently Café/Pantry/Foodbank/partner services)
- To explore other services that support the local community
- Work with partners to deliver further service in the hub
- Co-ordinate staffing of all services
- Recruit, train and mentor volunteers to support the hub services
- Deliver a development programme for all volunteers including specific roles and potential qualifications
- Organise and promote delivery of intervention programmes around the needs of the community (Cooking lessons/meal clubs/partner groups)
The deadline for applications is 9:00 Monday 24th October, via the Application Form attached. Completed forms should be sent to don.davis@salcare.org.uk. For an informal chat about the role please contact Don via email to arrange a time.
